<p>I am looking at Columbia and Duke as my reach schools. Do I have a snowball's chance at either? They are private school so will i be hurt because I am from out of state?</p>
<p>As many users on CC will tell you, GPA and standardized testing are not enough to gauge your potential. You have to tell us more. Colleges are not going to accept you based on numbers, especially not Colmbia Duke. Tell us your ECs, your SAT2s, recommendations, financial aid needs, race, gender, geographical location. </p>
<p>But before you do that, I will say that your testing scores are rather low for highly selective institutions.</p>
