what really counts in the new sat?

is it better to have higher math and verbal scores than writing?

if you combine my m and v, i got a 1510 (800m, 710v), but i only got 690w (even with an 11 on the essay, yeah im retarded)

so my question is, what will colleges look at? the old scale with the writing as an sat II or all 3 sections together??

It varies from college to college. Some will consider all three sections equally; others have said they will not consider the writing at all for the class of 2010.

You can never be sure. That's why I am retaking it despite 1540 (M+CR).

They are going to look at it in one of three ways:

Equal emphasis on all sections.

More emphasis on CR and Math- Less emphasis on Writing (some may look at it as an additional SAT II)

Emphasis only on CR and Math- Disregarding the Writing section completely. (though it will come in the score report and I doubt that any college would refuse to even glance at it)
