Since you asked: The ten I know OOS at UNC had nearly perfect scores. Everyone I know at GWU has been an east coast bro/bimbo or middle eastern who appears to spend more time cruising around foggy bottom in their car than in class. The college has zero integrity to me because I’ve seen the student body and they have had a recent admissions scandal. I’m not trying to offend anyone, but it’s common knowledge that it’s a private school you go to when you can’t get into an elite public, NYU or Georgetown… and refuse to go to Rutgers or CUNY. To be clear, some people are fine with that. I personally wouldn’t have my parents spend so much for such a school.

@20007gt Wow thats crazy that you know 10 different people with perfect 2400 SAT’s that all go to UNC, especially because it was a random school comparison made by @fallenchemist . I kind of feel like you are talking out of your butt because you seem to know so many people from so many different schools and how they act. I know I wanted people’s opinion on the school but you seem very very biased against it. Although I completely agree about the price, if i wasnt getting a scholarship that made it comparable to my state flagship then I wouldnt be going. Anyway thanks for the input, but at this point I don’t think anythings getting added to the discussion.

My son just graduate from G Dubs and is gainfully employed. He was happy there, had wonderful interactions with professors and got pertinent and well paying internships. Sure some of his classmates partied too much, but he also met many motivated and involve students, many of whom were international students. We were happy with the financial aid we received.

Georgetown is a very different school - its Catholic and has a self contained campus. It isn’t fair to compare, but since some are on this thread, I will add the one HUGE advantage is that GW is on the metro line and Georgetown is not. It’s much easier and quicker for GW students to get around the city. I was talking to Georgetown student just this weekend and she talked about the Georgetown bubble and how she hadn’t really explored much of the city.

GW has a lot to offer a motivated student.

Then clearly you need to meet more people. My best friend’s son I mentioned earlier is an extremely talented musician from Louisville KY (white) that is now in business with two other students (not east coast, not middle eastern) who all attended GW and are exceedingly successful. The tone of your comments are immature (bro/bimbo? Really?) and borderline racist. Your story about UNC doesn’t even come close to passing the smell test. As the OP says, you are not adding anything constructive to the conversation. You can take that as you wish for the future of any comments you make here.
