Hello! So I just got back my ACT scores, a 30, and was debating on whether or not I should just send my ACT scores or take a SAT Subject test. Heres the catch, I already signed up for the normal SAT, but I
m pretty sure I can change the test, and my math scores are horrible. Should I retake the normal SAT and hope I get a higher math score and send both test? or should I switch and take a subject test?
More information; Im planning on applying for a biology major, so I know that math should be important, but for some reason I can never test well in math.
s college counselor was not helpful at all.
Thanks if you can help! My school
Do not assume that submitting a high SAT subject test in math will make up for a low SAT or ACT math score. Colleges that require or recommend subject tests still consider the math section score in the ACT or SAT separately and as important.
Nevertheless, what you should do often depends on the colleges to which you intend to apply. Most do not even use subject test scores for determining admission. You do not mention what your math score is but depending on college it could be that your belief that it is “horrible” will not be the belief of many colleges. Nevertheless, if you will be applying to colleges that require or specifically recommend subject tests, you may consider taking both the SAT and two subject tests because for a number of those even a 30 composite ACT may be in the low range of accepted applicants.
My scores were this E:33 M:23 R:33 SCI:29 then STEM:26. so yea my math is pretty low
