What;s the next step after being admitted?

I was recently admitted last week. What do I do next? I know they say the packet will come in 2-4 weeks but is that really the case? Also, has anybody applied for housing yet?

Your packet will come in 2 to 4 weeks, like they said. Probably closer to two weeks than to four. They will send you information telling you when to apply for housing. I doubt anyone has done that yet.

yea i was wondering that b/c online (when admitted) you can apply over the net. I was just curious if anyone has done so because I was a click away but decided to play it safe.

When you get your admissions packet, it will have your University ID in it. You need this number to set up your IU e-mail and fill out your housing contract. You can do your housing contract online but you need your University ID number. There is also a green envelope in there that you send in to accept your acceptance with a $100 deposit. They encourage you to apply for housing right away if you think you might be going there. The deposit is $300, of which $200 is refundable if you change your mind. My son received his admissions packet 4 weeks to the day after the website said he was accepted. We sent everything in on Friday.

You just have to wait for that big envelope that says "You're In!". Don't worry, you have time. While you're waiting, you can decide which of the three neighborhoods you want to request.

Izzie, thanks for the detailed information. I have trouble remembering what happened two plus years ago.

Thanks for the info. Im looking at the NW dorms and I want to either stay in Mcnutt or Briscoe. How come Briscoe is listed and not Mcnutt when you apply for housing?????????

My S received his Large "You're In" envelope...about 2 days after the website said he was accepted. Must have been mailed out the same day.
