I got a 29 on my ACT - first time taking it and no prep. I don't think I'll be taking the test again, and I am just curious as to what SAT score (CR, math, & writing) a 29 is equivalent to. Also, is a 29 a good score? Thanks!

29 ACT is about a 1920 SAT

29 is above average, so I guess it would be considered a good score.

Another question: Can a good ACT score outweigh a bad SAT score (1680)?

Just don’t send the SAT score if you have a considerably better ACT score. In your case, this definitely applies. Send the 29, don’t send the 1680.

Okay, thank you! That was my first time taking the SAT, again no prep, and it didn’t turn out as well as the ACT. But I got a review book and am going to start reviewing every day. Hopefully, my scores will go up and if not, I’ll just send the ACT. :)

You don’t even need to take the SAT. If you did better on the ACT, study for that and raise that score. Don’t worry about the SAT.

I’m signed up for the October SAT already, and I’m just going to give it another whirl.
But I’m not going to take the ACT again - I’m more than happy with my score!
