What scholarships can I receive from volunteering?

Since June of last year, I’ve completed 250 hours of community service/volunteer work. Most of this was at a hospital. I just did it because I actually enjoy it but I’ve recently learned you can get scholarships from it. Can someone give me some links or names to scholarships I can apply for or recognition programs that I can apply for and add to my résumé? Thank you!

Kohls has one which is geared for community service
not sure if they prefer people who have started service groups or just performed service

Thanks

If you are a student PTA member, do a google search there. My DD got a $500 one from the state
PTA and it was based on community service.

If you are still a junior, you can try for Coca-Cola scholar if you also have great grades and test scores. The application is available to seniors in early fall and weighs leadership and community service heavily.

There aren’t a ton of scholarships that only look at volunteering, but most/all of the big national ones will consider it.

If you have a local Lion’s Club or Rotary, they usually have scholarships where community service is most important to them.

Usually, the local community Rotary Club has scholarships for service, but these scholarships typically cover your books for one year ~$500- $1K, a one-time scholarship. Where you’ve been volunteering is the best bet for a scholarship.

These aren’t the big scholarships that will help to pay for tuition.

Thanks so much! I sincerely appreciate every single recommendation.

Bonner Scholarships offered at many colleges are tied to service/volunteering.

Update: I ended up winning 2 full ride scholarships and am starting college next week.

What are they?

Are you going to UMich?

Which scholarships did you win? Or were they awards from the universities?
