What school are you not applying to and why?

No southern schools or ivies for me also. Same reasons as AnagramPanda. No schools in Oregon because my sister is at University of Oregon, plus it doesn’t seem like a very exciting place to live for four years (no offense lol). Didn’t apply to University of Arizona because a coworker that went there told me it was a party school. Didn’t apply to UCSB, UCM, UCR, or UCSC because I don’t want to pay for a $40 K education when I can probably get a better deal/education at UW (instate WA student).

Columbia University in NYC because the campus is too small

The schools I wanted to go to for so long… lol
Boston College - too hard to get in
UC Berkeley - too far and too hard to get in

Harvard - got into Yale, would much rather go there instead
Penn - FA not as good, gritty surroundings
MIT - would go crazy there, in a bad way
Vandy - too expensive for a school that’s not tip-top
Brown - don’t like the campus, prefer Dartmouth
Cornell - middle of nowhere

99.99% of the universities in the world, at least.
why? a lot of reasons, some of which includes not enough time, not interested, doesn’t have majors i like, too small/big.

Cal tech- I hate the idea of fighting three other guys to get a chick who’s not all that attractive in the first place

lmao mcmath… but then again you’re in california so i’m pretty sure you wouldn’t have to worry about a shortage of hot chicks…

most privates - $$$

What? That makes no sense at all.

NYU: Was my top choice, but my best friend who went there died in September, so it would be really tough to go there and not cry all the time.
Williams: My brother went there, but it’s too small of a town
Northwestern: Too far from home
Georgetown: Too tough to get into
Sarah Lawrence: Too few guys/the whole “best friend dying in NYC” thing

simple, honest reasons for me.

ivies: grades not good enough. (but regretting now not having applied to atleast one, just to see…)
stanford: same.

LCronin: wher u applyin to the SFS at GT?

Based on the almost a dozen kids I’ve spoken to over break, should have had S apply to one more Ivy once rejected ed dartmouth because of those dozen all were rejected from Dartmouth and all but one either got into yale or harvard. Go figure.

“D did not apply to Reed because when she visited there were 2-3 students smoking outside of most buildings.”

Are there schools that don’t allow smoking anywhere on campus?

MIT: bro got rejected and he had better stats than me
UT: BECAUSE I HATE THE HORNS
OU:its ou for gosh sakes. duh why id dint apply
USC: parents encouraged me against it.
Reed: uh, no thanks! no interest in such a liberal school with prominent drug use.

Harvey Mudd. My s hated the way the dorms were laid out. The method can be described as “Neo-Stalinist”

I didn’t apply to any privates, or top-tier UCs. My grades/SATs aren’t high enough, so it’d be throwing money away.

Havard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford: saving my chances for graduate school (YHP, etc. only let you apply upto 3 times acc. to a college Q&A I attended)
UPenn: Didn’t like the supplement (really stupid reason, I know)
UChicago: Great education, but known to be too “bookish” and it looks too much like home
Dartmouth: too isolated

*Harvey Mudd. My s hated the way the dorms were laid out. The method can be described as “Neo-Stalinist” *

That seems a reason why I WOULD apply there!

I didn’t apply to any California schools because my parents wouldn’t let me apply to the West Coast. =[

Didn’t Apply to :

-UCSD: Wouldn’t have chosen it.
-UCSB: Dumb decision, I should’ve, I didn’t think it was a good school back then.
-UCM: Where the F is Merced?
-UCSC: Looked at a map and said “No”
-UCD: Cows, too many cows, farmland, yeah, not my thing.
-Ivies: Didn’t want to file the documentation because it’ll be hard.
-Stanford: Didn’t apply on time
-USC: I don’t like USC because I’m biased with UCLA
