I have a question for those who got accepted already and plan on attending Fordham. What schools are you turning down, and did you got a scholarship from FU?

Thanks!

Turning down Northeastern, American, Rutgers, and Drexel. They all offered me a bit of aid, but Fordham was quite okay --- $18+ (Jogues & Grant-in aid).

turning down northeastern, ubuffalo, ualbany, stony brook, adelphi, hofstra, suny new paltz, and withdrawing from further consideration at wellesley.

turning down all the CUNY's, Stony brook, rutgers, and possibly stevens

not entirely sure yet, but NYU, Texas A&M, Northeastern, and Loyola Chicago

i got a full-tuition scholarship for being a National Hispanic Scholar.

Well I just got waitlisted @ Columbia and a guarenteed transfer option @ Cornell for fall of 2009.
Turned down SUNY's Binghamton, Stony Brook, Buffalo, ESF, now it I have to decide between University of Illinois vs Fordham. I also have to decide to pursue Cornell next year as a transfer. I am disabled and U of Illinois has the best support for the physically disabled in the country, or should I attend Fordham where things for me will be more of a question mark related to my physical needs. Diffucult choice.

Hey okwjoe , i read this a while ago, and I figured Ill'l link it here so you can get an idea
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/fordham-university/453261-visited-fordham-today.html?highlight=disabled+fordham

well, technically i got a scholarship to fordham through HEOP program, they sed w/e FA doesnt cover, they will take care of, which compells me to turn down manhattan college, CUNY hunter & SUNY new paltz..fordham was my 2nd choice anywayss..i didnt think it was a good school..but after visiting it, i changed my mind..lol

dreaming18, the same happen to me too!

realli? >?

Well to tell the truth, I had no choice. =(

what didnt you like about Fordham, I am trying to chose between NYu and Fordham as well, and my bf goes to Fordham but I am just wondering.

damn it, i might after all be turning down fordham...we cant afford it =(

waa, Im sorry to hear that but just make sure that you dont sacrifice too much just to go to school cheaper. I know I am having a hard time turning down these small schools giving me basicly a full ride

as calculated, by the time i graduate ill probably be in debt 60grand+, and i want to do medschool. its funny you say dont sacrfice too much, makes me want to stop education after my diploma and find a job that pays minimum wage with the hopes that after 30 years ill be making 60k.

jiji, I get you, Na I understand you Im just hoping you choose a place you like as well. I cant really talk though, I would be graduating with about 25k debt If i decide on Fordham and my parents dont help

atleast 25k would be more realistic for me, Honestly , if your planning to do business or something that you can get a decent job, i suggest you go to Fordham. Its a great school, debts can always be paid off. The average debt for people who graduate fordham is about 28k or 30k anyways, so consider it.

yeah I am however I am not doing business, but I am interested in the Co-Op program with COlumbia U in which i can also get a bachelor of Engineering as well as one of arts. But idk it depends. I reallly enjoy philosophy so idk this is a big headache lol

turned down CUNY Hunter, CUNY Baruch, Pace and NYU.

flamingspirits- your choice of med school is much more important than your choice of undergrad institution- save money on your undergrad, go to a great NY state school, and keep the debt down till med school. Starting out in life with a killer loan hanging around your neck like an albatross won't give you any advantages in life. Spend the money where it matters.
