What school can i get into for writing and classical guitar?

I’m not going to address the writing as there are others more qualified than I. I can address some of the music aspects and sources for additional info.

With the exception of Bard (Conservatory), all the schools you mention offer BA’s, not BM’s in music. There is a difference, and the focus is on the depth of the curriculum and required credit within the major to fulfill degree requirements. Private instrumental study parameters, as well as music admissions will vary at each of those programs. Peer quality may be spotty across all instruments at a number of these institutions, but that be can far less of a factor for a classical guitarist than one intent on pursuing an orchestral instrument. The key is finding an instructor that you can mesh with and develop your skills and talents.

Regards Bard, you can study either through the college at the BA level, or at the BM level (which mandates a second BA in a non-music major), and is a five year program. Currently there is not a listing of classical guitar as a performance major, nor listed guitar faculty). They are still building the conservatory program. There are a number of Bard posts on that forum by N8MA, director of conservatory admissions. Feel free to post or pm him, and he can direct you to specific info or provide clarification.

Most LAC’s will encourage a dual pursuit, which is not always the case with conservatory level programs attached/affiliated with universities.

I suggest you take a read through this as an overview http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/258796-so-you-want-music-major-one-familys-experience.html</a> and spend some time on the music major forum [Music Major - College Confidential](Music Major - College Confidential Forums) where you’ll get an extensive knowledge of available music programs.
