I am thinking about self-studying AP environmental science or human geography? Is it worth it? book recommendations?

Freshmen:

Sophomore:

  • AP Euro
  • English honors
  • Geometry
  • Religion
  • Chem

Might self study AP Environmental Science or human geography

Junior:

-APUSH
-AP Chem

  • AP Language
  • Latin 3 Honors
  • Religion
  • Analysis Honors, or AP Calc AB (depending on if there are summer courses)

Senior:

  • AP Latin
  • AP Bio
  • AP Statistics or AP Calc BC -Religion
  • AP English Lit
  • AP Econ

I am worried since my freshmen year, I took all regular courses, which also made it not possible for me to take some honors courses sophomore year, is this going to come off as not having a challenging course load to colleges? From these stats do you think i have a chance at upon? and if possible could you leave a list of possible colleges that i could get into with these stats? Thank you

Since you are not 100% sure what junior year courses you are, I assume you are a sophomore. Do not worry. First, if you have never taken the PSAT or SAT, you have no idea what you are “aiming” for. You can say “I’m aiming for a 2400” if you’ve never taken the test before, but once you take the test and get what your real score is, your college list changes quite a bit (FYI, the SAT is now out of 1600). We can’t chance on a predicted score, because chances are, you won’t get that score, and that’s perfectly fine. Focus on doing the best you can in your classes this year, and then start to develop a list of schools once you know what you want to study and gain a little more knowledge on what type of school you are looking for.

College Applications are more than your GPA and AP course load. I would really pay more attention to ECs and doing what you love the most!
