Okay so here is the deal. I was homeschooled in highschool, got my GED with very good scores. I have not taken ACT's or SAT's. I didn't like tests but have now gotten over that. I have been going to a very good Community college. I have 3.54 GPA, and 30 something credits. I want to transfer in the next year. Neither of my parents went to college, I haven't the slightest idea what schools I stand a chance at, or what I need to do to up my chance (other than bring up my GPA) I would like to go to medical school. I am a URM( 60% whit 30% black and 10% everything else) but I don't want to play that card unless I need to. I was thinking about schools on the east coast, I currently live in the midwest region. Please tell my what schools I should consider looking into. I just need a place to start. Thanks so much.

I forgot to mention, I am 22 years old. I go to school part time because I have to work as well.

Try UF they love transfers

Anybody? Are there any good schools in Boston or perhaps Delaware that I could get into? I'm not talking Ivy, I know that is not going to happen. Can anyone give me a list of some schools with good reputations around there with good reputations, that I also might have a chance of getting into?
Thanks

prue, Assuming you are female you should take a look at Smith College in Massachusetts. They have a track record of recruiting women who are older than the traditional college age.

Do not hesitate to include your racial and economic background when applying. Diversity is very important at all colleges today. If you've got it, flaunt it!

Thanks for the advice! I will look into that school. Any other suggestions?

Bates College doesn't require any test scores (tests are optional)--check them out. The college is in Lewiston, Maine.

And if I took the SAT's or ACT's and got decent marks what options woud I have then? Would Boston Univeristy be possible? I kick but in all areas of language arts, reading, writing all of it really. Math is my weakest subject,I do alright but A's are hard for me to get in math. I am working really hard this summer to improve that. I have put of all of my math classes but I can't put it off any longer. I am taking intermediate math (alg 2) at my cc this summer and I am taking college alg in the fall fallowed by statistics in the spring. I do well in all other subjects. Also I was wrong earlier I have 41 credits, but I dont know how many of them will transfer. Thanks everyone. Anymore advice would be great.

Mizo, thanks for the list. What do you think my chances are at these schools. Or rather which schools do you/anyone think that I would have a chance at. I certainly don't want to pay applications fees to a college that I have no chance of getting into. Thanks again.
