What school look at senior year grades?

Is it like just top schools, most schools, or all schools.

All schools that accept or defer you.

Pretty much every school unless you Early Decision or Early Action (in that case it’s too late) but even if you’re accepted you can’t just start failing all your classes because they can still go back and reject you if it gets too awful.

Do they affect their decision on wether they accept you or not?

Yes. Most schools like to see continued effort, and if you start falling behind it doesn’t bode well to how you will do in college.

Basically, what Affe said. If you apply early enough you might get accepted before any of your senior grades are available, but they will see them because your school automatically sends out a Midyear and Final report in most cases. If you start failing all your classes or spend most of your extracurricular time in the drunk tank at the local police station then your admission can be stopped then.

All schools, yes. You may get by with a bunch of Bs and Cs in less selctive schools but at highly selective schools you want mostly As.

What is interesting is that I do think it is easier to get in early if you slack off senior year, i.e. if you have straight As frosh-junior year and are accepted early, you may not have been accepted regular if they see your Bs and Cs senior year. Whereas they likely won’t rescind you from early action if you have Bs and Cs.

My grades so far -
Engineering 95-100 - A
English 70-79 - C
Physics 70-79 - C
Pre-Calc 55-60 - F
Economics 70-79 - C

Schools I applied to that weren’t ED or EA -
U of Delaware
U of Mass - Amherst
U of New Hampshire
SUNY - Stony Brook

Gpa - 83/100
SATs - 1200/1600 1680/2400
Math - 670
CR - 530
W - 480 8 Essay

Do I still have a chance to get in?

You need to send out a couple of safety applications. Your senior year grades are terrible–there’s no nice way to say it.

What is your backup plan?

Yes, all schools will ask for your midterm report AND your final transcript. They can rescind an earlier acceptance based a drastic drop in grades from the time you sent in your original transcript and your final transcript.

IMO–Your best chance on that list is Univ. of New Hampshire.

You still have a chance at a couple of the colleges you listed. The problem that I see is that your senior year grades do not show an upward trend (nor do they show that you are maintaining the level of your previous grades). Don’t give up hope, but do make sure you have a backup plan in place.

Good luck

I already got into a small college in NH were my cousin goes so I have somewhere to go nd they accept almost anyone.

Good. Now you just have to wait and see how this all turns out.

Do you know what happens if you get waitlisted becuase my guidance conselour said that it could happen.

<do you=“” know=“” what=“” happens=“” if=“” get=“” waitlisted=“”></do>

If you get waitlisted and your grades second semester are bad then you’re SUNK.

I got in somewhere already so it wouldn’t be the end of world.
