what school should i apply with a low gpa (for 2012!!)

i am currently a student of cc and i am planing to transfer to UC but my gpa is low, it's only 3.093 and i do not know what school i can apply, i plan to apply for UCD, UCI,UCSD ( i think most of the school i want to apply want 3.2) but my gpa doesnt qualify for the TAG, so i am scare that no school will accepted me :(. Poor me, last year UCD want 3.0 for the TAG , and i think 2012 is also 3.0 so i try to maintain my gpa with 3.0 but it raises the gpa to 3.2 this year.

okay what you are asking for is too broad. Please specify:

1.Major?
2.Pre-Reqs done according to assist?
3.ethnicity
4.upward or downward GPA trend?
5. extracurriculars?

PS. yes poor you, no chance for UCSD.

A friend of mine got into UCI with a 2.7 GPA majoring in History with no TAG.

Major: biological science
2.pre-reqs: will done on spring semester
3.asian

i dont know if i can bring my gpa up :frowning:
Do any of you guys know what is the gpa in UCDavis for Biol Sc major?
I am really scare that i cannot get in any UC.

this changes everything.

def no @ UCSD - sorry pal
I’m saying about 20-30% @ UCD
I’m saying 30-40 maybe 50 @ UCI.

either just apply & prove us all wrong
apply & hope for the best
CC again for another year to raise GPA
apply to CSU

have you considered Riverside?

also, what i have heard, ANYONE correct me if i am wrong, you can apply for an easy major, and switch once you are in…not sure if they will let you for bio sci though.

Umm, I also don’t know much… but bio majors are kinda hard to switch into, that’s what I heard from my friends though. You should raise your GPA as high as possible since you will be competing with other pre-meds who sandbag their GPA as close to a 4.0 as possible…
