I’m an aspiring animator. I got accepted into VCU, SCAD and University of Hartford. For a while, I was planning on going to Hartford because I got a talent scholarship for the art department and they offer many other things that are appealing to me such as the study abroad program, clubs, small classes, etc. However they don’t offer animation as a major, only a minor. An admission counselor suggested that I major in illustration and then minor in animation. SCAD and VCU have animation majors and according to niche animation is a very popular major at SCAD. I’m just wondering if I would be fine pursing an animation career majoring in illustration or should I focus my energy only on animation and chose VCU or SCAD? Or is either choice acceptable?
I would think that if you want to be an animator, you study animation.
Animation doesn’t pay much at first. Whixh has the lowest net cost?
