hey everyone, this are the schools I 've heard back from so far (still waiting on Penn, BC, UVA, Wellesley, Dartmouth). From this list, which one would u go to???????????????

UMD Collipark -- CIVICUS program
William and Mary--- Four year scholarship
Duke University
Georgetown
UNC Chapel Hill

thoughts please, in terms of overall quality of education, location, social life. be honest, not biased ;)

Are in financial trouble at all and what do you want to major in? If you're looking at Political Science or something......Georgetown is sitting right there in DC......where better to get an internship? However, Duke is always going to be tempting and is the best school on that list.

It depends on your situation. What's your race? Do you want others of your race near you? Are you a strong atheist or devout Catholic? Would you rather be near a city or a suburb? What program of study (science, government, humanities, etc) are you leaning towards?

And how could I be honest and unbiased?

Personally, I'd go to
Georgetown
William and Mary
Duke
UNC
University of Maryland

But that's taking into account my own personal preferences. Your situation will be totally different.

If I was accepted to those schools, easily:

Duke

William and Mary/Georgetown/UNC (TOUGH choice...academically W&M and Georgetown are superior...but UNC would be a lot of fun! Go Tarheels. Haha.)

UMD (I live in Maryland...no way am I going here)

It really does depend on what type of school you are looking for and what you are majoring in. If I got into those 5 schools, this would be where I would go:
1. UNC
2. Georgetown
3. Duke
4. University of Maryland
5. William and Mary

well........i think the choice is between G-town and Duke...I wanna do Comparative Govt....I live in Northern VA so I'm like 30 minutes from G-town...........I was at Duke this past weekend and I definitley fell in love but i c how the area isn't really suited for a comp. govt. major..FinAid is definitley a factor but i kno that I will receive roughly the same type of aid from either G-town and Duke.........G-town is better for me in the long run but i'm in love with Duke what should I do?????????

Actually when it comes to political science Duke ranks much higher, but Georgetown's location is great. However you should go to Duke if you like it so much. Either one of these schools will pretty much set your future, and so I would just try and go to the school that will make you happiest.

yeah.....it's just soooo hard b/c i thought that i wouldn't get in anywhere. I don't know whether to pick a school i'm in love with (Duke) or go to Georgetown where I can make connections that will be crucial to my future career??? Happiness now or later?
