What school is the easiest to get into within NYU? I know Stern and CAS are difficult, but what about Gallatin or even the school of social work? Can you transfer easily from school to school?

there is no 'easiest school.' you could argue CAS, because it takes the most amount of people. But if you follow that, then GSP would be one of the hardest to get into- only 4-7% of those who are rejected to what school they applied to get into GSP. Stern has a class of only 500, and Tisch is, next to Juiliard, one of the most competitive schools to get into for performing arts.

if youre looking to apply to a school in the Univ that gives you the greatest chance of being accepted, that might be a bit vain. your efforts would be better spent boosting your #s and the way you appear on paper.

Transferring isnt all that easy, but also not impossible. the way it was explained to me, you have to clear it with someone (GC or something), and then youre up against the entire school's applicant pool for that year. So are you at an advantage? maybe, you might have more credits/credentials. But is it easier to get in JUST because youre in NYU? no, at least not the way i understand it. (please correct me if i am wrong, again, this is how it was explained to me)

for transferring i think it depends. ive heard its pretty darn easy to get into cas, most majors in steinhardt, social work, and gallatin as an internal transfer. but stern or tisch youd be pretty hard-pressed to get in.
