My state recently offered a free ACT test without writing, and I got a 35 (35e,33m,36r,36s). I was just wondering if there were any top tier schools at all that don't require a writing section. I think I saw on Notre Dame's website they don't, but I'm not interested in going there, so it doesn't really help me. I got a 2320 on the SAT, so if not it's no big deal, although it would be nice to send in both. Thanks.

No top tier schools accept the ACT without the writing that I know of but if you take it again with writing I don’t think your score will be different by much because the writing doesn’t really change your final composite.

Thanks. That sucks though… I really hate standardized tests. I don’t want to take it again. I might not.

You should be good with that SAT score. I think you can send in the ACT score anyways because the reasoning for taking the writing is so that they have a sample that they’d have anyways from your SAT 1.

You got a 2320 in your SAT and you’re worried about your ACT score?

/me no understand.

Well, I figured it might look better if I did well on both tests, since my application is lacking in other areas.

if i were you, i would just suck it up and re-take it with the writing! if you score a 35 again it would definitely boost your transcript. it will not be able to make up for ur “lack in other areas,” however.
