What schools are REQUIRING the new SAT?

Most are letting the old one work since the high school class of '06 is a transition year. Some like Stanford will take just the Math and Critical Reading sections of the new SAT and view them just like the Math and Verbal sections of the old SAT. Dartmouth requires the new SAT. What schools in the top, say, 25 or 30 will require it? I know I can check all of their websites but if someone had a list from a website that would be a simple C&P that would be great. Thanks!

I went to the collegeboard site and did a college match with only the SAT II as the requirement. Here's the list it gave me:

<a href="http://apps.collegeboard.com/search/servlet/advsearchservlet?buttonPressed=viewResults&navigateTo=9&viewpage=1%5B/url%5D">http://apps.collegeboard.com/search/servlet/advsearchservlet?buttonPressed=viewResults&navigateTo=9&viewpage=1</a></p>

Thanks! I am slowly going through the schools I plan on applying to and will post my results when I'm done. It's mainly the big popular schools so hopefully it'll form a quick reference for those of us that dare to dream.

Good luck, Patrick. I hope all your dreams come true! :)

Ok, just some quick research has revealed

Schools that will require EITHER the old or new SAT:
Harvard
Princeton
MIT
Duke
Stanford
Dartmouth
Vanderbilt
Rice
Emory
Georgetown

Schools that will require EITHER but with a presumed BIAS towards the new:
Yale-"encouraged" the new SAT
UVA-"strongly recommended"

Schools that will REQUIRE the NEW SAT:
University of Chicago

There are some other things like what SATIIs, if any, they require, but I just made the list based on SATI preferences.

Hope it helps. And this is just a short list of some of the schools I am considering. It is by no means a comprehensive list as it only contains 13 schools! But they are popular so hopefully it will help some people out.

Vassar will take either one, also. If you take the old one, you will need to submit 3 SAT IIs, but only 2 SAT IIs with the new one.

The UC's will require the new SAT I test

Aren't the UCs basically the reason there IS a new SATI test?

Be careful. Some of the schools that say they will accept the old SAT also require that you sumbit the Writing SAT II, which is no longer offered.

Kaplan also has a list on its site of 200 colleges and their SAT preferences. And do keep in mind what Momofwild child just posted about how some colleges only will accept the old SAT if you took the SAT II writing, which no longer is offered!

Right you are, moms. I have taken the SATII writing and got a 730 which isn't as high as I had expected but it's good enough for me. :) That is something others should be aware of, though. I believe Duke is one such school.

does harvard require an sat 2: writing if you took the old sat 1.

From their website:
"Our testing requirements will change with the introduction of the new SAT I. For the Class of 2010, students may submit either the "old" SAT I or ACT taken before March 2005, or the new SAT or ACT (which must include the writing section). As always, students must also submit three SAT II exams of their choosing. The Admissions Committee will continue to consider all test results in light of students' educational opportunities."

And

"To satisfy our application requirements, applicants must take three SAT IIs, and students may choose any three subjects, with the exception of the English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT). Applicants may wish to convey the breadth of their academic interests by taking tests in different subjects."
