Hey guys, I'm curious, in case I don't make it into Stanford this year, about what schools I should avoid if I decide to transfer out of Caltech again next year.

So yeah, I'm applying to transfer from Caltech to Stanford.

Caltech, although it has it's perks, has a heavy workload, from what I hear, compared to universities of similar calibre (excluding MIT). Besides this, there's a lack of social atmosphere, with good parties happening only very occasionally and most people relying on off-campus events for entertainment. A lot of the parties that do happen are... rediculous... in a bad way. There's some rule that the bigger parties have to end at 2am. I don't know how it works at other universities, but where I'm coming from, that's just silly.
It's also a small university, which may be a factor. And of course, there aren't many girls here... and unfortunately, those that are here for the most part tend to stick to studying.
Some people like it though, I don't really understand why. Maybe they're confortable because the lack of pressure to be social. Also, the housing system makes it easy to become part of a group, but this also makes a lot of people strictly socialize with their "house", which is silly. Oh well...

If anyone from tech is reading this, you know it's the truth. You also probably know who I am ;)

I really wanna hear what people think of the other top schools. Anyone transfering out of Stanford?
