Questions -

Will being a new immigrant (came to U.S. 3 years ago) and being a Taiwanese help me in anyway on the road of admission?

What SAT score do i have to aim for in order to get into Top50 Colleges/Universities ( with the Major that the college is STRONGEST at )

Thx 4 the Help

u need a 2400 or above, if u want a shot "on" the schools u mentioned, lol english isnt ur first language is it?

Not To act like to Smart Ass, the max SAT score is 2400...so how can u get something thats "above" it.

Yes...English is NOT my first language as i mentioned....

i came to U.S 3 years ago

Being a recent immigrant does help a little I think but being asian wont help you al all lol.

yea, azn not good, 1st gen immigrant helps. You can probably get into the lower end of those colleges. You won't get into HYPS or other ivies :(, you definately have a shot at the smaller LAC's with a perfect math and a major in a math / engineering.
GL bro.

Ahh....At the End, Asian is NOT a minority eh?

So if i get around 1900 @ SAT and do alittle better than avg on SAT IIs - what colleges would i have a shot ?

never planned on going top 10 colleges tho...i do know that it's impossible, i even find Berkeley quite impossible...

err.. if u r CA u can prolly get into the lower tier UCs

Uhh.......

CA = ?

I also wish to goto TOP100 if possible TOP 80 colleges, b/c, lets face it...it looks good :O

CA=california
UCs are the public university system of california, best one in the country. UC berkeley and UCLA (I m sure u have heard of them) are all part of the UC system. UCSD is moving up too. The lower thier UCs are UC Santa Cruz and UC Riverside

Opps forgot UC Merced

Are they HARD to get in? considering my academic "achievements"

( still striving to get better scores on SAT etc. )

Btw, is there any other colleges outside of CA thats worthing going into thats within my ability (if i have SAT 1900 and im going to find out my GPA tmw with my counselor )

and how is UC.Davis?

Just want to know my Choices, Thx

go visit their websites where you can see their admissions statistics. If you are from out of state, It is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult to get in

Man~

I live in NY....

but NYU is hard to get in, IMO

Is Binghamton a good college to go to?

i tried to look for the strongest majors each college has, but i couldn't find them, could anyone give some tips?

get Rugg's college recommendations

bump

-just a few updates, my GPA is currently 4 (92.72)

-class rank of 28 of 198

-2 APs, planning on taking more

-National honor Society

would it get me anywhere around Binghamton to NYU if i boost my SAT score to a 1900+ ?

Currently living in New York Long Island

Comments & tips needed!! Thx

nothing sticks out, other than being an recent immigrant. Being Taiwanese(asian) will not help you in any way, it will hurt you. Do not join "ALOT of clubs senior year". College admissions officers will realize that in a second when you have a laundry list on your applications and they will not like it. Do things you like and be passionate about it, do not try to stage admissions and try to do things for college admissions. Its a horrible way to go about college admissions and its a horrible way to about life.

I may have missed it, but what are you interested in majoring in?

man doing a bunch of clubs senior year is good but do things u like and ur good at. Don't join clubs for the #1 purpose of colleges but do them cause you like them

You have a strong chance at Binghamton if you raise your scores, even now you have a decent shot.
