I just finished my finals/freshman year today. My cumulative GPA might be a 3.71 or 3.74(-> pretty bad?).
So far,
Summer: 3.67 Fall:3.89 Spring:might be 3.62, if hoping for best
All A or A-, except a B+ in English comp. and a B in org.chem 1.
I am planning to transfer (as an international student transferring from a top 50 East Coast univ.) to Michigan or Wisconsin or Cornell. What are the possibilities of getting into each of these schools?(My EC will be working in a hospital during Summer break)

One more question: I found out that transferred credits will NOT satisfy the 100 credit in A&S requirement at Cornell. Does this mean I have to take at least 100 credits at Cornell after transfer?

i know in highschool a billion people apply with 4.0 unweighted... but i hear all these people now with 3.9 and 3.7s in college, so how hard it is to get a 4.0 in college?

you'll be fine, i had a 3.622 gpa my first semester, and i got into Cornell as a transfer. I was a shoe-in at SUNY buffalo and Binghamton ... i only sent UB my college transcripts and the part I, and i got my acceptance letter to Binghamton before i was able to send in any part II stuff, teacher recs, counselors recs, etc.

OMG..I just got my transcript and the cumulative GPA is exactly 3.69.
My Summer sem. GPA = 3.67, Fall = 3.89, and Spring = 3.48
Will this decline in GPA really hurt my admission chances?

Chill man, just know that you'll end up where's best for you. (if you go where u want, great. if you don't, theres more to learn from failure than success.) Just apply and see what happens. Try not to think about it so much.

ahhhhh, i guess there is hope for me then. im trying to get into usc with a 3.21. if u can get into tufts with a 2.9, then i feel much better :) did u have extenuating circumstances?

Actually, I think it was a miracle that I got in. I'm an international student and all that, but I have a lot and by that a lot of ECs plus really useful recommendations and a good essay which explained my poor grades due to me being disinterested with regular academics and raring to take part in practical development which was accented by my internships in a law firm and a financial firm respectively.
