Syracuse is more competitive than you think. I believe it is more of a slight reach actually.

idk about syracuse being a reach. I know people from my area who got in with lower SATs or about the same and lower GPA. It's known as the avg. rich kids school of choice in my town...

BU is not a slight reach...it is a full blown reach.

It's also not a top 20 school...it's like #60, but still getting more competitive every year. If you're looking for a safety/low match in the Boston area I'd suggest Northeastern.

I agree with the suggestions of Maryland and Delaware.

I got into Syracuse with a 3.6 and a 1790 (1210 old), I think the OP has more than a chance. It's got a low selectivity rank in the US News, in the 70s. They also gave me 3/4 tuition in grant money. The problem with Syracuse is they reject top applicants that they don't think are going to enroll. They have a bad yield rate, and are trying to raise it. I also got into Wisconsin, someone earlier said that it was a "huge reach" that made me laugh, considering I thought it was a slight reach/match.

baseball89, when you say you want "Division 1", do you mean in all sports, or football?

I just mean a good sports school, but thats not needed. Like either a good basketball or football or competitive program.

And it's funny that some people say Wisconson is a HUGE reach, while other say its barly a reach. (i think its a big reach). and BU which i feel is a reach but not a slight or HUGE one..

You won't get into any school if you confuse "there" and "their"

here is a haiku:

Apply to these schools
Then see where you get in
Then you can decide

HAHAH--ok...thanks for the advice

ahhh haikus suck....

What is wrong with a good haiku now and then...

Seriously, Syracuse sounds like the perfect fit for you, what did you say you wanted to study, again?

business..

Business is a waste if you don't get specific!

business is just a waste

Not if you are at Stern, Ross, or Wharton, to name a few!

I do business now. I sell on ebay, have some websites, even wrote for some websites. A big part of my essay and stuff may be my entrepenur ways. I've been making some money since 12-years-old off the computer.

Yeah well I'll be applying to Stern/McCombs undergrad business, but I still realize it's just going to suck my soul out. I'd rather study liberal arts during the undergrad years and keep my soul for 6 or so years before grad school. :)

If you want to get specific, maybe marketing/advertising or managment.

brand-you plan on going to college for 6 years!?!?!

nah goin for 4 years, then working for like 2, then grad school ;)

Oh, got it
