Hi, I’m a junior living in New York State (just outside of Buffalo) and I have some schools I’m looking into but definately need to find a few more.
GPA: 3.7
SAT:1350
ECs:
Band- 8 years Dance-13 years Key Club-2 years Mock Trial- 3 years
I go to a highly competitive public high school. I’m a full IB student. I’ll be a first generation college student.
I’m looking for somewhere close to home ( no more than 6 hours away). No preference to location ( urban v. city) or size of the school yet. I can afford a decent sized tuition but nothing too crazy if that makes sense.
@mom2collegekids I have a pretty good college fund that would allow me to pay $35k a year with out debt and my parents said they can contribute ~$5k a year but I also plan on working and receiving scholarships so I would say I could afford $50k a year
What do you want to study? You need to visit some campuses to see what you like/don’t like. If you want to eventually attend graduate school or professional school, want to save on UG education.
You can google college navigator to give you a list of schools by state and major. There are several good schools in PA and Ohio that would offer merit to get you to $30-35k per year. Wooster, Allegheny, Duquense, Juniata, are some options in addition to what’s already been mentioned.
By selectivity and geographical factors, you can consider a range of schools, from, for example, Denison to St. Lawrence. This thread includes some excellent suggestions.
