What schools to apply to with a sub par gpa ?

I have around a 3.0 gpa and a super score of 1870 on the SAT. Cr+M= 1260.
I have really good ECs such as volunteering in another country, Founder of a club etc.
I want to pursue Computer Science in college.

Currently living in NYC but have no problem attending colleges out of state. What are my chances of getting into a school like: Stonybrook, Ohio State, Boston University, Boston College ?

Any suggestions on colleges I should apply to as safety for computer science undergraduate would be appreciated. I hope to become a first generation college student :).

Boston University is a reach. The rest are fine though

Check out Colleges That Change Lives. Read the book to get a sense what defines such a school. Take a look at the CTCL colleges and see if any interest you.

BU and BC are going to be difficult with a 3.0

BC is a big long shot with your GPA and test scores.
Ohio state looks pretty good!
Don’t know anything about stonybrook.
BU is likely a reach.

Michigan state university might be a good match for you as well, not sure if they have your program or not, but numbers might be compatible.
