I'm just curious what schools did you guys turn down for Emory?

washu, uva scholars, umich honors

I'm not sure I'm going to Emory. I've pretty much narrowed it down to WUSTL and Emory. If I go, I will be turning down WUSTL, Carnegie, Hopkins, Cornell, and UChicago.

GaTech, UGA Honors, University of Southern California

Mt. Holyoke "sigh" being of a feminist mindset that's hard. But defintley no regrets!

ahhhhhh: you may want to ask if people are turning down other schools b/c of $$$$ (either that they received from Emory or didn't get elsewhere)....another thread mentioned this as well.....

java568- Since today is May 1st....I'm curious: where did you decide to go??

i turned down emory for cornell becuase cornell gave me much better financial aid. If money wasn't a consideration, I very well may have choose emory.

I'm going to Emory. WUSTL didn't give me any money, only UChicago and Emory did. Even if Emory hadn't given me money, I still think I would have picked them over WUSTL - idk woulda been a hard choice (I'm a tennis player so athletic facilities and tennis have a lot do with the choice, just so you guys know what perspective I'm coming from).

I'm very excited, but turning down WUSTL, Carnegie, Hopkins, Cornell, and UChicago was pretty hard.

I turned down emory (with a really good scholarship) for upenn...well, because I am stupid like that ;)

D turned down Wesleyan, William and Mary (hard decisions turning down both of these), Bucknell, Colgate, Lehigh, Dickinson, Syracuse and a wait list at Williams. However, deferred matriculation until '09. Spending this coming school year in Israel on the Nativ program which is a semester at Hebrew University and spring doing community service and leadership programs.

Turned down acceptances at NYU, Brandeis, BU, UMass, UTexas, and GW (with 60k scholarship)

Took my name off waitlists at WUSTL, Tufts, Northwestern, and UMich.

Still waiting on UChicago.

auraeight you are stupid like that.
haha jk

I turned down Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Duke, and USC for a full scholarship to Emory. Best choice I've ever made :)!

HAVE NOT POSTED IN AWHILE...

but I did turn down Cornell, Brown, Duke, JHU and UMich..Visited Emory and it was the best fit for me GREAT school.... and already met lots of people through facebook and on Emoy learnlink!! Playing V-Ball also.. YES.. going for a NCAA Title!!!

also lots of wise people in my life told me go where you feel good,,, just trying to go to top name (Ivy and more) schools is not the best way to choose.. you can be successful coming from a Junior C. if you so choose..!!
