I am a sophomore currently enrolled in AP Chemistry, and I have an A. Because I was placed in sophomore Biology as a freshman, my school does not allow me to take AP Physics as a junior, which I am planning on taking as a senior. My options are either AP Biology or AP Computer Science, what is your opinion?
Two very different classes. Are you more interested in Computer Science or Biology?
Which AP CS (Principles or A?)
If Principles, ID try to take that along with AP Bio.
What type of majors are you thinking of?
What type of AP physics? (Would your school allow you to take regular or honors Physics junior year, and AP physics C senior year?- doesn’t work if your school offers AP physics 1/2).
“AP Biology or AP Computer Science”
IMHO take whichever is more interesting to you. For me this would be a really easy choice, but my preference might not be your preference.
Computer science is a math credit not a science one
^depends on the school and on the state; many states consider that computer SCIENCE is a science, not a math, or that it can count as either.
For some colleges, Computer Science is considered a College Prep elective. Colleges want to see you take Biology, Chemistry and Physics, so I would take AP Biology Junior year and if possible also AP Computer Science especially if you want to consider CS as a college major.
