I'm a junior this year and I have to choose my science course by tomorrow.

Here are my options:
- AP Biology
- AP Environmental Science
- AP Chemistry
- AP Physics B

My issue is that the Bio and Chem exams just changed as of last year and there was a really low pass rate. I also didn't get the teacher I wanted for Biology, which makes things worse. I suck at Chemistry and I don't want to take it at all. That basically leaves me with AP Physics B or APES. APES is, from what I can see, considered a joke AP and I want to look like I'm taking a challenging course load. AP Physics sounds very difficult and, from what I hear, is a very difficult course. I'm trying to find a middle ground here but there doesn't seem to be one! What can I do? Any help is much appreciated.

Also, for those of who have taken AP Physics B, is there a lot of Chemistry involved? I'm quite good in math but I suck at Chem.

Suggestions? :

Also, I'm new here, so sorry if this is in the completely wrong place.

I took AP Bio this past year and, to be honest, the class itself wasn’t too bad. And that’s saying something coming from my school. The AP Bio teacher at my school makes that class ridiculous amounts harder than it needs to be, and as a result, only 30 people in my entire school (2100 students) signed up to take it, and after the end of the first quarter, we were down to 19. Anyway, I think the pass rates will be a bit higher this year. In my opinion, they were only low last year because the CB didn’t do their part in preparing the teachers to prepare us. I feel that the pass rates should be higher this year since people have seen the test now and teachers know what to expect (and the 2014 review books will probably be much more helpful as well). If your biggest concern was the pass rate, then I would try AP Bio this year. Just my personal opinion.

I have also heard AP Enviro is a huge joke, but colleges are supposed to give all APs “equal weight.” Take that for what you will though…

AP Phys and AP Chem are the hardest AP sciences. My school only offers AP Physics (Physics B), and I’m not taking it so I can’t give much feedback on that. I have taken HONORS Chem though so I can tell you that Chem in general is a very conceptual and theoretical science. It’s not stuff you can just go home and memorize. Also, in chem you’re not going to hear anyone say, “This IS EXACTLY what this looks like,” it’s more of, “This is what we can GUESS it kind of sort of looks like based on the evidence presented.”

Sorry for kinda rambling. Basically, if you REALLY do not want to take Phys or Chem, then I would suggest Bio.
