What score to aim for?

I'm a sophmore and I'm trying to eventually get my sat score over 2300. I am taking it in june and I was wondering what would be a decent score, given that this is my first time taking it?

probably a 2290 would be good

caroline what the hell is your justification for 2290? that's the stupidest reply i've ever seen

IB-doesn't matter that much b/c it's only junior year, but if you want to get SAT's over with, probably anything over 2200

just get it over 2300 the first time

2150+ will be good. Obviously it would help to get higher, but getting around 2150 would be reasonable.

Any score that you feel satisfied with would be a decent score. Don't take it more than three times (assuming you take it more than once), because your scores won't change drastically.

Anything over 2100 is a 'decent' score.

My sophomore year, I got a 2190, and my junior year, I got a 2300 on the button. So I would say if you're scoring AROUND a 2200, a 2300 is certainly in range for the next year

just out of curiosity did you prep for the sat between your sophmore and junior year?

My first full-length practice SAT I got a 1910. I ended up with a 2360. Just go for it. If you eff up, you can take it again. A previous score is not a marker for the next one (besides, a lot of people do WORSE the second time around.) Just study now so you won't have to do it again at all.

No, I never prepped for the SAT
