What scores should I aim for on my SAT subject tests to get into Ivy-level schools?

I just got my SAT Bio E score back (760) and I’m wondering if I should retake it. With that being said, are there specific scores that schools are generally looking for? Is it worth retaking my SAT Bio? Thanks in advance!

I’m of the opinion that 750 is enough, but there is no specific score that they are looking for. So no, I would not retake a 760.

on the College Board website you can get information on score distribution to see what percentile your score is at and how many other students took the test. For some Subject Tests a 760 is extremely solid and for others so-so. I would not spend the energy to retake a 760 as this score will not be why you don’t get into an Ivy League school. The thing you need to remember about Subject Tests is that only a tiny fraction of the population taking SAT’s takes Subject Tests and for certain tests the students taking the tests are all extremely strong. It is not the general population. My advice to students is not to submit a language test if they are a native speaker as it proves nothing in terms of academic achievement. You have asked a very good question though and one which is not discussed much

Don’t focus on percentiles. It is important to understand that for several subjects, the percentiles are depressed because so few colleges request Subject Tests, that the ones that do are the ultra selective ones. As a result, it is the high achieving kids taking the tests. No AO is sitting on the floor cross-referencing scores with percentiles.

IMO, anything in the 700’s ticks the box so that it won’t be the reason you are rejected. No one gets in because they have super high SAT2 scores if they don’t have the complete package.

700+ is probably good enough 750+ definitely is.
