This is for waiver of an application fee, right? Did you get an SAT fee waiver? If so, that comes with a certain number of app fee waivers (4, I think). If you didn’t, or have already used those, you can print out the NACAC fee waiver form and have your GC certify it for you…they may want to verify some basic financial info with a parent. Unlike the College Board waiver, I don’t think there’s a hard limit on the number you can use, within reason of course. Here’s the link:

Thanks a lot sk8rmom!!! I am an international so I dont quialify for the NACAC, SAT or even College Board Fee Waiver, I emailed most of the schools I am applying to and they said I could send a letter from my principal. The question is…what should it say? does it have to be formal? say that I dont have any money? or that it s too much? or what?
Thanks

Just a simple letter requesting that the school waive the application fee.

As an international student, this is also going to be like a 2-edged sword since most schools are not need blind to international students and your ability to pay will be a factor in the admissions process. A fee waiver screams I have no money!!

I see…yes, I suppose it should be along the lines of a known financial need as that’s really the only basis for fee waivers. But, if you can’t afford the app fees, how in the world will you be able to get a visa?! Unless these are schools that will guarantee to meet your full financial need (ie. the very few and very selective) you will have to provide certification in order to obtain your student visa.

Thanks a lot.

@skybbie719, thanks you are right. Ill reconsider it, however I can’t afford all the fees at once, I;ll try to.
@sk8rmom, Im applying to HYPS, thanks though.
