What should a U.S. high school student do to boost the likelihood of a London university acceptance?

Re NCH: It’s not affiliated with UCL specifically. It’s in effect an external college which tutors students to take final exams from the University of London (of which UCL is one constituent part), which will give them a London degree. It hasn’t really had much time to build up a reputation, good or bad, as it’s only in its second year. The proof will be when the first cohort graduates in how well they do both in their results and in how they do in the job market. However, at present, the majority of people in higher education are unimpressed by the hype - and admissions are lower than had been hoped for, too. I think they’re now looking at lowering the grades they want from potential applicants, which isn’t a good sign.

But as I mentioned upthread: they don’t have the legal ability to sponsor overseas students for a visa, so they can’t admit them yet. So it’s irrelevant for the OP.
