I'm going to be a transfer student for the Fall 2012 semester. I'll be graduating from my community college in May 2012. I have three colleges I'm considering applying to.

College A:
-Is a private college
-Is fifteen minutes away from my house
-I wouldn't need to live on campus
-The tuition is a little steep at about $33k per year
-I'm eligible for a $10,000 scholarship for the year, which is renewable every year if I decide to attend this school making it $23,000 total for the year. However, the scholarship is selective and if I don't get selected I won't be able to attend this college.
-Ideally, this college is my first choice.

College B:
-Is public
-Is about an hour away from home
-I would need to live on campus and I have mixed feelings about that.
-Tuition and R&B is about $16,500 per year
-They don't offer any scholarships for transfers
-Idealy this would be a safety

College C:
-Also is public
-Is around an hour an forty-five minutes from home
-I would also need to live on campus/also have mixed feelings.
-Tutition and R&B is about $17,100
-Also doesn't offer transfer scholarships
-Idealy this would be a safety

*The reason I'm iffy about dorming is because I've had a really bad experience dorming before and I'm not sure if I want to try it out again, but I might have to. If I attend College B I could go home some weekends and have that option. I wouldn't be able to do that as often with College C. Is that even worth it to consider these schools if I'm going to come home often? I'm really limiting myself to places to go if I don't consider these schools.

What should I be taking into consideration when looking at these schools and additional schools to apply? Finances? Distance? Activities they offer?
