What should I be doing right now in highschool

<p>I'm a sophomore and I'm wondering what I should be doing this year and for the rest of my highschool career in order to get into the best colleges possible. My dream is NYU. </p>

<p>Schedule this year:
(highest classes offered at my school for this year)
Ap World History
Journalism
Gymnastics
Honors Chemistry (scared for it!)
Accelerated Honors Advanced Algebra
Spanish 3
Honors World Literature</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
Student Council
DECA Business Club (joining this year)
Gymnastics team
A fashion club outside of school</p>

<p>Planning on doing volunteer work outside of school this year as well. Taking a PSAT this month also. Only 2 B's freshman year and they were in AP human geography. I got a 5 on the AP human geography test also if that matters. This year I will ideally get straight A's and become member of Foreign Language Honors Society. </p>

<p>Try to run for officer positions in the clubs you’re involved in. Colleges look to see if you have leadership roles, rather than just membership. Some organizations, such as DECA, even offer scholarships.cAlso, consider job shadowing a business or organization that does what you want to major in/ have a job in. What are you thinking of majoring in?</p>
