Im a senior and Ive hit a bit of a roadblock as to what I should be doing regarding college stuff. Can someone please help? Thanks

Make sure you have
1) At least signed up for the SAT's or ACT's.
2)Meet with your guidance counselor ASAP to discuss all of this (this suggestion should really be #1)
3)Talk with your parents to discuss the financial situation and what/if they are

Good luck!!

Do you have a list of colleges you are interested in?

4) see if there's any colleges you'd like to apply early for (usually, higher chance you get accepted)... and do so quickly! most deadlines are in november, and it may take some time to process all those materials.
5) talk to teachers you want to ask recs from, if you haven't yet and if the colleges you think you are interested in require them

good luck!

I have a sort of list but I dont really know much about any college to say I definitely wanna go there.

I was thinking of going Early, but my SATII's aren't good enough yet for most colleges so I think Ill just go Regular. Unless I somehow beasted the Oct sat ones.

bonmar- Tell me why my guidance counselor would decide to take a vacation NOW? Not coming back till the 27th?? ahhhhh.

static- I asked two teachers already- an English and a history. Is that enough?

thanks for all ur replies btw

Two is the universal perfect number for teacher recommendations: it's not too many or too few. That's not to say some students don't benefit from more, but two is plenty for pretty much all schools (unless they state otherwise).

You should try to finalize your college list, or at least, work on applications to schools you are certain you want to apply to.

Also, building on #3, you should look at/start the FAFSA and other such documents necessary for financial aid, if necessary.

bestwhit- What Im planning on is to apply to schools only on common app and Rutgers cause I dont know much about what I wanna do or about colleges. Are there any other good schools I may want to apply to around 300 miles or so within NJ area with 3.5/5.03 gpa, good ECs, 2030 sat with better score hopefully this week?

I think the fafsa comes out Jan 1st.

thanks
