So, as you probably know, the due dates for high school applications were either last week or will be next week.
I’m applying to Exeter, Andover, and Milton, as well as a couple of schools near me.
I’m really worried about my applications and whether I get in. Should I be reassuring myself by saying that I’ll definitely get in and set myself up for disappointment if I don’t, or tell myself I won’t and upset myself more?
Also, I just found the actual place for this- I will keep this here, though, I just won’t post here next time.
Given that each of those schools has a very low acceptance rate, virtually every applicant should prepare themselves to NOT get in, but also not to take it personally.

Any “safeties” on your list? Are you fine with those schools if accepted? “Top” candidates may get rejected from “top” schools. And acceptance rates will be crazy this year.
I’d say to prepare for the worst, hope for the best. It’s normal to be disappointed if you don’t get in, but it’s easier to deal with if you don’t assume you’ll be completely successful.
I think the best choice is to let it go. It is done. You can’t control the situation. Odds for boarding schools are low. You’ll know about other schools you applied. Just put it out of your mind.
