Omg, I have to take 3 subjects on this coming June SATII tests, well, what I'm good at is Math so Im definately going to take Mathiic, but about other 2 tests, I'm going to take Physics and another subject. What subject do you guys think would be easy to prepare in like about 12 days? And is Sparknotes good for both mathIIc and physics? Cuz i just studied those.
Thanks.

Literature if you're good at it

A lot of students from my school who had just taken AP US took the US HIstory SAT II and felt like they did well...

Literature was harder than I expected... but it wasn't bad. Be prepared for poetry though, so if you aren't good with interpreting poems don't take literature, because 2 out of the 4 passages are poems.

thanks for the replies guys, but hmm, how does literature compare to the SATI Verbal?

Literature on the SAT II is basically the same type questions as the SAT Verbal... There are four passages (two are poems) and I believe there were 60-80? questions total for the whole hour. It goes deeper than the SAT Verbal though... and it's actually closer to the multiple choice on the AP Language Exam (or at least, that's what I remember... I took both AP and SAT II the same week). I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong guys, that there are some questions that relate to rhetorical strategies (i.e. metaphore, alliteration, personification) and there are lots of questions that require you to interpret the author's meaning or intentions... theme, tone, etc. You get the idea. It's a lot more specific, and in my opinion, harder than the SAT Verbal. If you have read a wide variety of literature and spent time in class analyzing different works and styles then you should be OK though.

the bios and the histories are a lot of memorization...for instance, if you've taken APUSH you should be alright on the SAT II...a lot's common knowledge

I do bad on the SAT Verbal (not that bad on the vocab)...is there a chance for me to do well on the literature (barron's is being used)?

If you don't do well with the passage based questions on the SAT Verbal then I would choose something other than the SAT II Literature.

I didn't use any prep books so I don't know how much barron's would help.

I'm already signed-up for it...so I have to take it

any chance, realistically, if I got a around a 600 in CR, that I get a 700+?

you don't HAVE to take it, you can opt to take a different test in the booklet or none at all.

well I already bought a book, I'm gonna take it:)

is US History easier than Bio? US history is merely remembering, how about bio?

bio is harder in the sense the curve is worse

oh, so the history curve is generous? XD

according to Sparknotes

I luv sparknotes :)

How many questions is the curve?

I'm planing to take Math IIC, math Ic and phy for SAT II in Oct. Will these be considered as 3 subject tests ?

Personally I think if you take MathIIC you don;t have to take MathIC.

i jus want to make it look like i've given 3 satIIs, will it work ?
