What should I cut off my college list?

are any of the schools on my list ones that you would say not to be very socioeconomically diverse or contain a majority of students who are very wealthy? I'm a little concerned about this since i am lower middle class and i don't want to feel inferior or anything

Keep Boston University; it has a great academic reputation for a big school, and it's probably a safety for you. Plus, Boston is a great place.

I think the only school on your list where the majority of students wouldn't technically be considered upper middle class would be Oberlin, and they're in a bind financially. I think, to be honest, there are some schools where the kids flaunt their money and some schools where the kids do their best to hide their fammily's wealth. I think most of the schools on your list are somewhere in the middle.

i think i'm cutting brandeis off. I guess it does have a lot of what i want, it has never just made itself stick out and be particularly interesting. i also thought about cutting vassar off last night, and decided to, but today i'm reconsidering it.

hmm even though I love boston, bu is a really big school. Do you feel a community with the other students? I really want a school with a good community, though perhaps not a really stifling enclosed feel.

Vassar has no core, but is in a relatively unexciting place. It fits in some ways from what you've said, but not in others.

If you want a small school, why NU and BU?

"Do you feel a community with the other students?"

Yes. If you make the effort, there's no reason for you to have troulbe making friends or feeling like you're part of a community.

Good thing you didn't listen to collegehelp. ;)

I agree with collegehelp!!!

haha, yes it's funny how oberlin went from being around 5th place on my list to the school i'm attending and i'm perfectly happy with my choice

You are wasting your money applying to Yale unless you manage to find about 300 points on the SAT. Your GPA is a little low and you don't list class rank. ECs seem nonexistent.

just letting everyone know that this is a very old post of mine from last fall....i'm now done with all college applying and decision making..so you don't have respond any more
