What should I do for my summer?

I was going to apply for an internship with a newspaper, TASS, or some other summer program of TASS caliber.

But I looked at how many essays I was going to have to write... and died a little inside.

So now I'm thinking about taking a few classes at the local college? Ceramics for my art credit, and maybe a history or literature course (ex: Native American Literature, Intro to Af. American History, etc)

PS: For some background info, I'm a sophomore in a magnet high school, receiving 4.0 unweighted, participate in sports and extra curriculars, interested in journalism and the humanities, etcetera etcetera.

argh.
in need of feedback.

Last year I took gym and health over the summer at a community college to get them out of the way. It won't directly improve my college app (I imagine that's what you're going for. If not, grab a nice video game and get a good tan). However, doing so allowed me to take another AP class (woo!) which might just help me out.

Anyway, there are plenty of things to do that wouldn't necessarily require an essay. You could volunteer somewhere, but make sure it is related to your interests (i.e. your prospective major). Similarly, you could get a part-time job/internship.

Yea that's basically the situation I'm in. But I want to go somewhere so I'm trying to use the same essays for multiple applications. You could try that..
