I got a 51 on the writing section of the PSAT (I'm currently a sophomore), and I was wondering what should I do to improve it to at least a 70+? I have read a part of Silverturtle's Grammar Guide, but I find it too hard sometimes to understand. Is there any book, or a certain website I should refer to? I have Rocket Review, and I'm wondering if that is the best book to use to get me to a 70+. If anyone has any opinions on that or anything else, please tell me! I really need help!!

Not sure about the PSAT but for the SAT, I just did a lot of practice exams in general and on the test I got 4 wrong and 2 omitted (out of 49). Definitely not mind-blowing scores but when you do the practices you get the feel for where they can trip you up and kind of know their “strategy” and just look for things. IMO that’s the easiest way without like hardcore studying.

i ttally agree with tma585,
after a considerable amoubnt of practice, you will get the “feeling”. You will be able to tell what they test makers were thinking when they made the test.

I used Barron writing workbook to get a 740 in writing. The essay bit isn’t that good, but it explains the rules of grammar quite well in my opinion.
