What should I do?? GAP or Transfer?

Hey I was going to apply to all those fancy Ivy Universities but didn't manage to do all the SATs on time - It was just too much.. so here I am now, got rejected from one uni in England (LSE)

and I only applied last minute to the Macaulay Honors College at Brooklyn College (CUNY) (they didn't require the SATS for international students)
I will get my notification at the 16th but I'm not expecting an offer because I spent little time and effort on the application.. of course I got into Brooklyn College

My question is (accepting a denial from MHC) if you would say it's better to just attend Brooklyn College and try to transfer up or go to a good grad school.. ???? or if I should take a Gap year and apply as a freshman to Yale, Brown, Upenn etc.. I???
think I'd do great in my first year in college so what do you think? Are my chances higher if I apply as a freshman with my current profile or if I improve my profile with extracurricals and research stuff (but attend Brooklyn College) and try to transfer???
It would be so great if you could give me a bit of advise.. I dunno what to do
In this country (Germany) I have a fantastic profile but US unis except a lot of
extracurriculars and stuff that I don't really have but pls just check my profile I dunno how competitive I am

good german high school - senior (year 13) at age 17
GPA equiv. to a 3.8, no ranks here
skipped ninth school year at a noname highschool, then managed to enter directly into year 12 at my current school so i skipped year 11 as well (is that an excuse why my gpa is not that great?)
SATS/APs etc: will be okay but I haven't taken them yet
student government
representative of students in year 12, repres. of year 13
elected member of the school commision last year (one of 6 students - it's almost equiv. to a head girl position)
80 h internship in Sales & Marketing at a global concern
4 months/15 h week internship in a small engineering/architecture firm
"school without racism" project
4 languages, travelled around europe on my own for 6 weeks at age 16 (is that one any use?)
Amnesty, Mensa Int. member but never held any positions there, was in a political party for one year - in the economics decision board - but left
almost done with a novel that I hope will get published in spring 2010..
we don't really get awards here
hispanic (quite hispanic xD)

I really really want to get into a good school but also I don't want to wait another year.. do you think I have chances transferring if I get some more extracurriculars and good references?? Thx so much

Its better to go to brooklyn, get a 4.0 your first semester and then apply for a transfer for Spring / Fall. However i think you will need SATs though for transfer even if you are international. If you get into honors you will be set, those kids get treated very nicely. Plus you get many benefits.

Good luck!

thx so much for answering to both threads

I expect my SAT to be around 2100 - do you think I’d have a chance if I don’t get into honors my first semester but just do good as a normal student?? If I get into MHC I might just stay there but I think I don’t so is that much of a disadvantage on a transfer application??

Well my explanation for not taking the SATs last year is I was too stressed with living (entirely) on my own on a really small budget, just transferred schools and as I had skipped another year I was under pressure to catch up with my current class… I got used to independancy now but at age 15 it was quite tough
