So it's the first day of the spring semester, and I just got my report card. My grades are... horrible.
What I wanted to know was: Is it possible to turn around my grades and get into college?

That's it really. Stuff you might need to know:
* I'm a sophomore in high school currently.
*I got about 170 on the PSAT
*I have about a 1.3 gpa
*I'm looking into art colleges- RISD, SVA, FIT, Ringling, ect.

Heading towards junior and senior year, do I have a chance?

Is it possible to turn around my grades and get into college? That’s for you to answer yourself.

With a 1.3 though, you might not even be able to get a 3.0. Just work your butt off and whatever happens, happens. Worse comes to worse, you go to CC and work your butt off there, and transfer into a solid state school.

There’s always room to change. If you can get your act together for your junior year and you study hard, I’m positive you can change your life around :)

Thank you both for the encouragement and the plans of action. I guess that I’ll just have to work going into junior year and try for a 3.0 average. I also hadn’t thought about CC, so thank you SoDoMojo.

Starting at a CC and transferring is an excellent option, although if you do try hard and get a 3.0 you have a chance of getting into a decent school :)
