What should I do in highschool to get accepted into college?

I was thinking about going to university of Michigan. Here are ap classes I may want to take: ap lang, ap bio, ap euro, ap macro, ap us gov, ap psych
should I take more?

As for extracurriculars… Key club, national honors society, forensics, rotary club, badger boys. Would any of these be good? Should I do more?

Also, if you know any ec’s or opportunities relating to anthropology please tell me.

In general, you should pick the activities that you genuinely enjoy or can actively contribute to, not activities just to boost your college application.

I like all of my ec’s its just that college is important too.

^This. The biggest thing you can do to get into great colleges is take advantage of all the opportunities your high school can offer you. For schedule difficulty, if you go to a great high school with 20 APs, colleges are going to expect that you’ve taken many of these, perhaps 8-10. If, on the other hand, you go to a less-prolific school, which maybe offers 8 APs (Like my school), you should still aim to take a majority of the APs. Basically, do as many as humanly possible, i.e.: not to a crushing amount of stress, while taking advantage of your school’s offerings.

Second, extracurriculars boil down to commitment. You don’t have to be the president of 12 different clubs. In fact, this hurts you. It doesn’t impress colleges, and you end up getting no enjoyment from high school (That is why you go to high school, btw). Focus really well on 3-5 activities, take leadership roles there, gain recognition from them, and that’ll do just fine for your college applications.

^ exactly. Lots of ECs are good, but not random ones. Focus on your interests and do lots involving that. Good luck!
