What should I do in this situation?

I took the March SAT and got a 2240. 710 M, 730 CR, 800 W. Now, I took the May SAT for USH and got a 740, and I'm about to take another test for the June session. However, the dilemma is whether or not I should re-take the SAT I or take the SAT II's for Math 1 and Literature. Literature I am not even remotely ready for, and the difficult Math curve will be hard for me to overcome. I also have an October session in mind, and my plan is to re-take the SAT I this June, and take the two subject tests in October. However, my dad insanely objects to this for some reason, saying if I play around with the SAT when "I'm not ready" and get around the same score on my second try, it'll hurt my chances for college because they don't like seeing people take the test too often and they favor people who only take it once. I don't know how accurate those statements are, but regardless, the fact is my M + CR score is only decent and considering some colleges only look at those two scores it might be a difficult situation if I don't score higher. The 710 in Math was only from 4 questions wrong - if I can get it to 4 to 3 or 2 or maybe even 1 wrong, I'll add anywhere from 10 to 70 points. The 730 in CR was from 5 wrong - if I can get it to 4 or 3 or 2 wrong, I'll add anywhere from 20 to 70 points.

I don't know how wise it would be to wait the whole summer to re-take the test in October, because wouldn't it be clear off my mind by then? Additionally, I really shouldn't play around with my SAT II scores like that and take those when I'm not prepared. What should I do? My dad is extremely stubborn about this and insists I take the SAT II's next week but it would be highly illogical in my eyes.

By the way, I'm aware that any changes for the June SAT test type ended yesterday.

I think you have at least a good SAT1 score on hand while you are missing SAT2 score(s). You may improve your SAT1 score later although it is not likely to have big impact on your chance for most, if not all, schools. So I think your dad’s idea is to have a complete set of score before Summer so you can work on the school list and work on the application. If you do get a better SAT1 in Fall, you just enhance your chance for competitive schools a little bit. Anyway, it is already too late to register for June SAT. So I don’t know what is your dilemma now? Either you have signed up for SAT1 or SAT2, or you don’t have either.

Your SAT I is excellent, especially since it’s a first sitting. For top schools, the SAT Subjects will be factored more heavily, and for most schools that have merit the threshold is 1400 CR+M so you’re fine. Therefore, I would really focus on these SAT Subjects. Also, considering your SAT M score, I wouldn’t take Math1, but rather Math2, where the curve is more lenient and where you’re likely to do well provided you’ve had precalc (or were very good in Algebra2 and can self study a little past that).
