What Should I Do Know?

Im in 9th grade, and i recently took a Algebra 2 Trigonometry placement test. I didn't study enough for it and when i took the test I was not able to solve the problems fast enough and didnt not complete half of the test. I pretty much sabotaged myself and i know that. But, right now i want to know the things that i can do, to improve my math-solving skills, other ways i can still learn trig early, classes i should take to stand out for college and to be a good engineer in the future. In the summer, im going to help the needy and the homeless, plant some flowers in a garden for extra hours. Is there anything more i can do to help me for my future career, that wont take up time for other activities that i can do?

Any advice would be nice and appreciated. Thank You for reading~.

P.S This is my first ever post.
