What should I do now?

I am an international freshman applicant with 4.0 GPA, 2270 SAT1, 2400 SAT2 and 112 TOEFL but I was rejected by all the schools I applied except UCSD. I don't think my essays or extracurriculars went wrong because I had polished them for a long time and taken opinions from my teachers. Certainly I feel bad about this result. Now I'm considering retaking my senior year. Is it plausible? What should I do in this year? Or just accepting my fate and going to UCSD is a more sensible choice?

I don’t understand why you would retake your senior year. You finished, and you did well. If you don’t want to go to UCSD, you can apply for spring semester or next year.

What’s the matter with UCSD? Weather’s too nice?

San Diego is beautiful. It’s a great school. I don’t see the problem. It’s understandable that you’re bummed, but you’re international and it’s much harder for internationals. I wouldn’t put myself through another year of torture (even if it’s plausible). Enjoy being in weather a million times better than other people :-D

go to UCSD

Why are you considering retaking your senior year?
If you really don’t like your options, wouldn’t a gap year be of more value?
