What should I do? Please help.

Hey guys, I will be a senior this year and looking at colleges is coming pretty quick. Right now I want to apply to CPP or CSUF, both in California. I live in Colorado but I lived 12 out of my 17 years there. I want to apply to both in the next couple of months but the tution for being out of state is very expensive for both colleges. So here are my questions:
1) If I get accepted into both CPP and CSUF but then take a gap year to move down there and get residency, will I get in the following year?
2) If I move to California right after I graduate and live in my own apartment,(or live with family and friends) will I qualify for in state or will I still have to wait a year?
3) Is it bad to enroll into a JC for a year or two and then transfer? (JC is still pretty expensive.)

Thanks everyone.

I'll add any new information if you have questions.

You need to look up the rules for establishing in-state residency in CA. These two institutions might have different rules.

Usually you must move to a state, get a job and a place to live, and be self-supporting for at least a year before you go to college. You usually can’t even take community college classes during that time.
