I was accepted early admissions to SBU and was wondering about possible rescidence.

My grades senior year have dropped dramatically due to health related absences and other health problems. In an attempt to avoid further absences, I have put off surgery until the end of the school year.

I spoke with a SBU admissions rep. in an out of state admitted chat back in February and he essentially assured me that so long as I graduated, I should be fine. I also sent emails to admissions in January but recieved standard responses reserving the colleges right to recind admissions.

Can anyone give me a piece of mind? I am not in danger of failing, but I want to know if there is anything I should do, i.e. letters from doctors, teachers, etc. Does anyone know what SB's policy is on this type of thing?

Have you deposited already? It's really a rare case that we rescind admission to the university. (I do remember our discussion during the chat!)

I'd say to get your deposits in -- tuition and housing -- ASAP (we're likely to close on or shortly after May 1) to make sure you get your spot. As I said, as long as you're hanging in there and graduating, it shouldn't affect your admission.

If you'd like, shoot me an e-mail.

Oh. Alright, sorry. I didnt remember the name of who I spoke with and I'd seen you post on this forum before.

Yea, I sent in all my deposits, health forms, fin aid apps, etc. I was assigned to ACH and recieved my orientation date. As far as I know actually attending orientation is all I have left to do.

I guess I wont stress about it then. I just kept worrying about what might happen, and after I made a trip up there for my spring break I'm more excited than ever. I'll Just do the best I can and finish out this school year. Still on track for graduation.

Once again, I appreciate it.
