Hello! I’m currently a Junior and i’m starting to make plans for this summer. I think i will mostly stay in my town to do volunteer work, a summer job and worry about college applications. The summer before sophomore year i went to a summer camp in Germany for german learners (2 week longs) and last summer i did an immersion program of computer science called Girls Who Code, which was free and only 20 applicants are selected in each state ( 2 months long). Do these things have any importance? Also, if i get a summer job in another country, does it matter? Any suggestions on what should i do during the Summer before senior year? Please, i would really appreciate your help.
I posted in the wrongs forum category AGAIN
:)) I’m right with you, I’m also a junior. But what I’m doing is volunteering at a medical center. What major do you want to take in college?
Definitely do something challenging if you want to go to a prestigious college. We’ve been contacted by al Ivy League recruiters (except Dartmouth) and they all said to do something worth writing about. My son did Governors school for 4 weeks and got college credits plus lived on university campus. That was helpful
