<p>In response to your question I’d say great numbers (like I told JayJay, WashU has the fourth highest number of National Merit Finalists of all universities in the US), extracurriculars where you have leadership positions, a little research on the side (WashU undergrad is big on research), interesting and insightful essay, and get really hot letters of rec. I guess this list is what you’d expect for any top college like the Ivies :smiley: Best of luck!</p>

a lot of top schools also like “hooks”
yours may be that you’re concertmaster or that you’ve done some cool research during your summer program</p>
